BMKÖS: Grants for Dance and Performance

Open Call

This call is directed towards professional freelance artists whose work demonstrates an experimental approach and innovative character. The grants aim to provide artists working in the field of dance and performance the opportunity to develop new artistic concepts and projects, dedicating time to research, conception, and preparation of artistic endeavors. The grants are project-based and are not primarily intended for further education, training, or courses.

Target Audience

  • Eligible applicants are freelance artists with completed artistic education who hold Austrian citizenship or reside in Austria. They must have already completed at least two public projects independently of an educational institution.
  • Individuals currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program at a university/college at the time of application are excluded from applying.
  • Projects previously submitted for a production cost subsidy to the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Civil Service, and Sports cannot be considered.
  • Individuals awarded another grant from the Section for Arts and Culture in the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Civil Service, and Sports for 2024 or those receiving funding from the ACT OUT program for the same period are also ineligible to apply.
  • Projects predominantly driven by commercial goals, educational endeavors, projects by amateurs, projects within educational programs, or those primarily focused on socio-cultural issues will not be supported.
     

Number of Grants: Up to 10 grants
Duration of Grants: 3 months. The grant must be initiated in the year 2024.
Grant Amount: Each grant is endowed with EUR 4,500.00
Deadline: January 31, 2024
