"Glory to the Queen" focuses on the legendary Soviet-Georgian female chess players Nona Gaprindashvili, Nana Alexandria, Maia Chiburdanidze and Nana Iosseliani. It is a film about winning and losing at the chessboard and in life, and about rebelling against a powerful, male system.
The film will be preceded by an introduction with chess historian Ernst Strouhal and followed by a discussion with director Tatia Skhirtladze.
