Not A Typical Persian Girlseeks to unveil the plight of women and girls in Iran by cataloging some of the things that are forbidden to them. But at the same time, it also attempts to unveil the humor and vibrant spirit with which Persian women and girls confront the constraints placed upon them. The videos and photographs in Not A Typical Persian Girl follow a young woman who symbolizes women living in Iran under the rule of the Islamic Republic. Even though political power continues to stifle the voices of women, it is the women and Generation Z who are the driving force behind the current fight for freedom.
