Concert
27.07.22, 20:30
Porgy & Bess, Vienna
Riemergasse 11, 1010 Vienna
Maloya is a style of music originating from La Réunion that combines rhythmically driving, hypnotic and danceable grooves with often political lyrics of independence and drives directly into the body and soul. Austrian bassist and composer Lukas Kranzelbinder (Shake Stew, Interzone) invites some of the most important representatives of this genre to a raucous session at the club - an action that only came about at short notice and will only take place once in this form. Don't miss it!
Artist talk before the "Maloya Party" on July 27 at 8:30 pm at Porgy & Bess.
Kulturen in Bewegung is pleased to announce that Lukas Kranzlbinder, who has just returned from his trip to La Réunion, will talk about his lasting impressions before the concert: "For me, these were intense and fulfilling musical experiences that I would by no means want to miss. After all, I've been working towards this trip for seven years."
You can find out more about the music and political developments on La Réunion on Wednesday. So if you want to dive deeper into the island world in the Indian Ocean, you are cordially invited to the introductory artist talk.
The conversation with the protagonists of the evening will be moderated and translated by Cécile Balbous.
