Bosnia and Herzogovina's unwanted resources

With the project land of mine, artist Irena Pejčić investigated how landmines in Bosnia and Herzegovina restrict freedom of movement - a fundamental human right - even decades after the war. The research included interviews with several NGOs in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Austria (Norwegian People's Aid BiH, Posavina bez mina, Organization of Amputees UDAS Banja Luka, Gemeinsam Gegen Landminen Austria) and a visit to a cleared minefield with the team involved in the clearance. The exhibition opens on 04/04, 6pm at the DIT. gallery, Schleifmühlgasse 1, 1040 Vienna. Pejčić presents her sculptures - stumps of landmine survivors. Guest will be Alfred Göttl - former explosive ordnance disposal expert - and the association Gemeinsam Gegen Landminen Austria to talk about the topic.
