After the success of the first two Impro-Parcours competitions, the 3rd edition is now starting with the same modalities. The aim is to give spontaneous improvisation the attention it has long deserved and to promote lively free play, music-making without notes.

What is needed is originality, ambition, a serious personal approach (own style), nuances, variety, ingenuity, joy of playing, authenticity, wit. Preference is given to string, wind and plucked instrumentalists as well as anything unusual and exotic, as well as vocalists beyond classical opera singing, all as unplugged as possible and all without electronics.

Individual artists or ensembles (up to 3 musicians) of all genres can enter without any restrictions regarding age, origin or nationality, who have left the cliché of well-known and common improvisation patterns far behind or have never entered them at all. Not only the winners but, if possible, other selected participants will be invited for paid performances. The performances for the 3rd Impro-Parcours will take place in June 2023. The concert will be curated by Walter Baco, who has been performing as an impro artist himself for many years. A project of the KulturAG. The KulturAG is supported by the ÖSTIG LSG.
