For nine days in July, the Glatt&Verkehrt festival brings exciting musical ideas from all over the world to Krems and the Wachau region. Traditionally, the festival starts at Schloss zu Spitz and on July 15, Corina Sîrghi will bring a dynamic mix of music from Eastern Europe to this special place.
Corina Sîrghi și Taraful Jean Americanu have passionate romances, heavy-blooded tangos and fiery dance music from Bucharest in their luggage for their Austrian debut. They combine "Lăutari," the professional guild of Roma musicians*, with the mood of Bucharest salons and the boisterous mahala block parties of the 1990s. Corina Sîrghi is one of the most talented young singers on the Romanian scene. With an elegant as well as raspy voice, she confidently leads the wide-ranging repertoire of this band.
