In 2024, the intercultural team of SPRUNG.wien continues the performance series against war and for peace that has been running since 2020. Centred around a scenic reportage with texts from the novel The Aesthetics of Resistance by Peter Weiss (originally written in 1975-1981), the attempt is made to make available and bring to the stage historical-social experiences and aesthetic-political insights of the 20th-century labour movement. As in the novel, the common thread is the examination of works of art – from the Pergamon Altar to Géricault's ‘Raft of the Medusa’ to Picasso's ‘Guernica’ – and invites a dialogue with the audience about new forms of resistance.

For the contemporary context of DU, AN DEINEM ORT, discussions with activists from the women's peace organisation WILPF will take place after each performance. A special concert evening completes the programme.
