Humor, irony and sarcasm that contest, recycle and deconstruct clichés. The joke itself is essentially a change of the meaning, a reversal of the meaning of clichés. Together with humor and our penetrating laughter, we want to smash the prevailing conditions. CLIŠHÉ TRÄSH brings great performers and stand-up comedians on stage to enable an understanding of current political debates through the prism of humor.
PROGRAM
In this edition, we bring you the performer Nataša Mackuljak, who combines irony, clichés and narratives about feminism and migration, stand-up comedian FLONA, who sarcastically takes a non-white perspective against sexism and patriarchy, and Rosalinda, who provocatively addresses socially critical issues with a focus on feminism and humor. And straight from Berlin, Naya de Souza, a stand-up comedienne who has taken the cultural scene by storm with her multimedia cabaret performances and politically charged stand-up sets. The night will end with the Bicha Boo Collective, an audiovisual, performative and celebratory collective founded by Mzamo Nondlwana and Pêdra Costa, which plays tracks by Black, indigenous and people of color, with a focus on women, trans and queer artists.
TRÄSH SESSION: Clišhé Träsh is based on the practice of collective curating. In the Träsh Session, curators Petz Haselmayer, Marissa Lôbo, Ivana Marjanović and Negin Rezae, together with artists, cultural producers and the Clišhé Träsh audience, will address the question of how an artistic program can succeed in taking a critical look at one's own thought patterns and reflecting on the experiences of different life realities – including in a humorous way.
