For nine days in July, the Glatt&Verkehrt festival brings exciting musical ideas from all over the world to Krems and the Wachau region. On July 26, Bia Ferreira will not only be a amazing musician, but also a passionate advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community on stage.
Bia Ferreira personally experiences what it means to be Black and lesbian in her homeland of Brazil. The multi-instrumentalist processes her experiences into socio-critical songs with a poetry that grooves with Brazilian genres like maracatu or samba reggae as well as funk, afrobeat or hip-hop.
The evening's concert will be opened by the trio Zur Wachauerin, known for ironic folk songs, as an "extended version" with an all-star ensemble and country program.
