The incomparable Ruth Brauer-Kvam - actress, singer, multi-talent and 2021 Austrian Music Theater Award winner - will read excerpts from Aslı Erdoğan's "The City with the Red Tippet". She will spend the evening together with accordionist Miloš Todorovski and cellist Carles Muñoz Camarero, who will accompany the introverted academic Özgür musically through fascinating Rio de Janeiro as part of an atmospheric program.
Günter Wallraff describes Aslı Erdoğan's multilayered as well as stirring novel as "a great piece of world literature, a partly autobiographical and yet universal story of traumatized people - beyond the borders of Turkey, Brazil or Europe." In it, the Turkish writer, author, particle physicist, columnist and human rights activist, who lives in Germany, tells of "freedom and loneliness, suffering and injustice, in her Turkish homeland and abroad."
