Listening Pauses for November 25th online talks will be a presentation with the artist and activist Katú from Brazil and Colectivo Trenza and Kollektiv Antikolonialer Interventionen, both from Vienna, focusing on their artistic and activist work. Katu will be engaging her work as a musician and rapper, Katu is expressing their experience and journey through their creative processes of composing and singing. Colectivo Trenza and Kollektiv Antikolonialer Interventionen reclaim the public space in Vienna as an intervention of colonial continuities. They are important collectives of affection and connection through the migration experience of Europe.

This discussion is part of our campagne #voicesfrom where we highlight reports and artworks from artists, activists, thinkers reflecting on the current pandemic Covid-19. The first discussion was held on June, 25th, 2020 with Jaider Esbell, Jumoke Sanwo and Negin Rezaie, moderated by Marissa Lobo, translated by Raquel de Souza. Katu Mirim
Indigenous, Rapper, actress. Founder of the visibility portal indigenous and the collective Tibira- indígenas lgbtq. Founder of TAG #indioNaoÉFantasia

Kollektiv antikolonialer Interventionen:
Susana Ojeda
Anthropologist and visual artist based in Vienna. Since 2011, she has been making independent documentaries about social and cultural projects with her co-owned production company: estudio elgozo. Living in Vienna since 2016, she oriented her projects to short films, as well as the audiovisual documentation of artistic projects, activism and political demonstrations. Her work has been presented in museums, festivals and tv programs in Colombia and Europe. Born in Bogotá, Susana studied anthropology and has a MA in regional development. She worked for more than 15 years in social projects in various regions of Colombia. Hence, her audiovisual pieces have theoretical and methodological elements that come from anthropology, as well as reflections from feminist and decolonial theories.

Colectivo Trenza:
Caro Quirán
Writer with a master's degree from the Fine Arts Academy in Vienna. She studied journalism in the University of Cauca in Colombia and script writing in Barcelona. She names her work ARTivism; which often combines topics such as migration, colonization and elements of her recent research on Caucan native languages with digital media, photography and text. Her personal and collective experiences as well as her family memories are oftentimes the inspiration for her workshops, artistic projects and healing rituals. Co-founder of the Latin American Women's collective Trenza. Lives between Colombia and Vienna. 

Daniela Paredes Grijalva
DOC-ÖAW Fellow and a researcher at the Institute for Social Anthropology of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. She has worked on transnational migration, gender and social protection. She is a co-founder of the Latin American Women's Collective Trenza. Her work with and experience as a migrant woman in Austria shape her efforts to weave collaborations across groups and sectors. Her activism intersects gender, environmental and social justice struggles as well as colonial legacies and human rights.

Raquel Luciana de Souza
Afro-Brazilian interdisciplinary scholar, a translator/Interpreter. She holds a PhD in Social Anthropology/ African Diaspora Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
